I started walking for my health at the beginning of 2016. I began taking selfies from different locations all over my town and got a lot of positive feedback on facebook. Early January at school, I saw one of my old students who is currently battling cancer. I let her know that I was thinking about her and that she needs to keep on fighting. Later that night on my walk an idea came to me. Since I had so much support about walking for my own health, I decided to ask my community of Springfield, Montgomery County, PA (via Facebook) if they would consider donating to CHOP, if I walked to their homes during my travels. Well the idea has really taken off. I have visited with hundreds of people, some friends and some strangers (now friends) who just liked the idea. I've also received donations at my door and through the mail from all over the country. What started out as just a simple idea, has really grown into something special. Thanks to all who've supported me with this venture. Walking miles, making smiles.
