Barbara A. Fijalkowski, née Polk, age 72, passed away on April 19th, 2024 at Inspira Hospital in Mullica Hill, NJ, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her loving husband of 50 years was by her side. Barb's warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of compassion, resilience, and finding joy in life's simplest pleasures will continue to inspire those she left behind.
Barb earned her nursing degree from Einstein Medical Center and cherished her career as a neonatal intensive care nurse at the renowned Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), caring for premature and critically ill newborns with unwavering compassion. Each donation will go to the Newborn/Infant Intensive Care Unit (N/IICU) at CHOP to help provide critically ill babies with complex care and help with extraordinary advances to save the lives of children in Barb's memory.
