The 8th Annual Walk for Hope raised more than $160,000 for children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)! Your support and fundraising efforts will advance IBD research and improve the lives of our young patients with IBD.
Thank you to the more than 800 runners, walkers, sponsors and donors who joined us for the 5K run and 2K family fun walk on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at the Navy Yard-Philadelphia. The day was filled with fun, entertainment and exercise for a great cause – raising funds for IBD research at CHOP.
Inflammatory bowel disease, which includes Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, affects about two million Americans. With the support from donors like you, our doctors, nurses and researchers will continue to investigate new treatments to improve the quality of life for thousands of children affected by this often-debilitating disease.

The IBD Family Research Council (FRC) is a volunteer organization of families whose children have been cared for at the Center for Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease at CHOP. Organized in 2006, the group is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children with IBD and is committed to raising funds for research. Launched by the FRC in 2009, the Walk for Hope has become the group's annual fundraising event. It is the only major event in the greater Philadelphia area directly supporting pediatric IBD research.
