Ride for Breakthroughs for Little Hearts!
Hey teammates, supporters, family, and friends, it's Grace, and I cant believe that I am announcing that the Philly Spin-in is Back again!!! I am of the captain of the Super Tulip team, and now that it is my forth year involved in this great fundraiser, I can see that with hard work and an amazing support system behind me that this fundraiser has given me the opportunity to do great things. In 3 years of participating I am amazed at the fact that this team has raised $15,541.16! However, this is not the end; and I am determined to do as much as I can to raise money for new innovative cardiac research. This is with the goal to give to children in need the proper cardiac surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Cardiac Center. The date of the Philly Spin-In is on March 12, 2023! I ride in honor of the inspirational doctor who saved my life and to give babies, once like me, a chance to grow and limitlessly become whoever they dream to be.

Why I Ride
I was born with a CHD, congenital heart disease, but that is not what defines me. I’m an athlete, an artist, a lover of the outdoors, and an honor roll student. Riding in the Philly Spin-In means that I have a chance to give money, so babies and kids like me can have the same chance I have: to live a life full of excitement and joy, but most importantly being able to participate in everyday experiences. The team’s name is Super Tulip because as a baby my parents would call me super tulip based on a bib I would wear with a purple tulip on it. I would run around with the bib flying behind me like a superhero. Today this feels symbolic to me of overcoming my heart surgery and showing at such a young age that I was ok, which is my goal. I want to give babies a normal life like I have. Last year we raised a record breaking $7,101.16 over $1,000 over our goal, and hope to top that and raise $8,000 this year my largest goal ever. However, I cannot do this without your help. So, I'm calling on you, my family, friends, and supporters to help give back to a cause that means so much to me. By coming together, we are all connected by a bond to inspire and raise money for something that is deep in my heart. I hope you will join the cause by supporting CHOP’s Cardiac Unit in any way you can.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
How You Can Help
We are raising money to support innovative cardiac research for kids at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). With your help, we can better understand the causes of pediatric heart disease, develop new treatments, improve long-term outcomes and offer new hope to families who need it most. Please find it in your heart to stand with me and make a donation.
“From the bottom of all the hearts we touch, from the bottom of all the hearts we work on, from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you.”
