I am running to support two very important little guys.  First, in memory of Jake Plassio, a beautiful little boy who lost his battle to Medulloblastoma in January 2009.  Jake was only 2 when he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor and 3 when it took his life.  I never knew Jake, but I have to come to love his wonderful mother and adorable younger sister, Sami.  My son Julien became fast friends with Sami in 1st grade and she's shared many stories about her big brother Jake with Julien.   I've also heard many heartwarming and heartwrenching stories about Jake's short time here on earth.

I am also running for Eli Kwait of "Team Gusto".   Eli is a family friend who has fought cancer with "GUSTO" since his diagnosis of high-risk, stage 4, neuroblastoma in 2011.   After over two years of intensive and innovative treatments at CHOP, Eli has been in remission and will be celebrating his eleventh birthday this fall!  His parents Rob and Jenny, and little sister Vivienne will be forever grateful to everyone at CHOP for helping him get through his cancer treatment and making it a positive experience.  CHOP remains in Eli's life as he goes back regularly for follow-up scans and transitions into the survivorship program.

Please consider donating to a cause very near and dear to my heart.
