Jordan’s Journey has been established in loving memory of Jordan Elizabeth Preshong in 2018. Her family and closest friends have started this foundation in the hopes that no family has to suffer this kind of sudden and tragic loss alone.
On December 27, 2017, after enjoying a fun filled day playing with her friends during winter break, Jordan passed away suddenly in her sleep. It was revealed that Jordan had a form of pediatric brain cancer called a Medulloblastoma. Unfortunately, Jordan was asymptomatic and therefore never diagnosed. Medulloblastoma is the most common form of pediatric brain cancer, accounting for up to 20 percent of all pediatric brain tumors.
In Jordan’s short eleven years on this earth, she managed to touch every heart she came in contact with. Her kind smile and laugh were simply infectious. All who knew her will remember her as a vibrant, kind, compassionate, and generous young lady that she was and always will be forever.
Jordan’s Journey will raise funds to help support families of children affected by pediatric brain cancer, give gifts to those children to offer some distraction, and donate funds to pediatric brain cancer research. Showing LOVE to families, spreading HOPE, and increasing AWARENESS of pediatric brain cancer.
Jordan would have wanted nothing more than to help other families and children, and to provide love and comfort at the hardest of times.
I’m raising money to help fight childhood cancer and fund lifesaving research and innovative care at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Join me – together we can make a difference!
Why this is so important to me:
Patients Need Us Parents shouldn’t have to hear the words “your child has cancer.” However, 1 in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer by the time they are 20 years old.
Breakthroughs Are Upon Us Every day, CHOP’s Cancer Center team is redefining what a cancer diagnosis means for a child. The center offers the most advanced therapies available anywhere in the world, including cutting-edge clinical trials that reprogram the body’s own immune system to fight cancer. CHOP’s Center for Childhood Cancer Research is one of the most distinguished research programs in the nation.
How You Can Help
Make an Immediate Impact Today. 100 percent of every donation to the Parkway Run & Walk will help CHOP make important breakthroughs in understanding the causes of childhood cancer, developing new treatments that will improve outcomes for children, and one day may lead to a cure for childhood cancer.
