As many of you know, our daughter, Charlotte, spent 10 months at CHOP receiving several bone marrow transplants while fighting a rare disease, M.I.R.A.G.E. Syndrome. While some of the worst moments of my life took place within those walls, whenever I look back at our time there I always consider CHOP a happy place. Every doctor, nurse, custodian, cafeteria worker, and Child-Life worker made sure to do their part to make your day better. Having toys and play time was great for the kids and the parents. A lot of the parents there (including us) never really got to see their kids just play with toys. We want to make sure we pass that forward to the families at CHOP right now, fighting right beside their children.

I have decided in an effort to help those families, I am taking on David Goggins 4x4x48 Challenge. I will run 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours. I will start at 8:00pm on Friday, April 30th and conclude after my 4:00pm run on Sunday, May 2nd. Please, if you can, donate to the virtual toy drive, come run a leg of the challenge with me, or both.

 So brighten a child’s hospital stay through a tax-deductible donation in support of the Child Life, Education and Creative Arts Therapy team at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

This special team provides care and support year-round to children and families in the hospital. With thousands of children visiting CHOP every year, the Child Life team has an ongoing need for toys, craft supplies, books, video games and movies.
