Thank you for visiting our virtual holiday toy drive!

As a community member, we recognize that so many of our congregation members are current or former patients of CHOP.

During Sunday School, we teach the lesson of the widow's mite. The lesson tells of Jesus teaching at the Temple in Jerusalem:

"He sat down opposite the treasury and observed how the crowd put money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. A poor widow also came and put in two small coins worth a few cents. Calling his disciples to himself, he said to them, 'Amen, I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the other contributors to the treasury. For they have all contributed from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has contributed all she had, her whole livelihood.'"

We teach the story of the mite because similar to the widow, the children in our Sunday School have no wealth and still give all they have.

Please consider making a contribution to CHOP this holiday season and help our congregation give back to the community!
