Cancer doesn’t stop…but neither will we! Once again, the Brain Tumor Avengers will assemble to join the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)’s annual Parkway Run & Walk, supporting research to find the cure for pediatric cancer. This year, whether remotely or in-person on Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway, we’re excited to team up with friends and family to raise funds and log miles to find a cure!

All funds raised by the Brain Tumor Avengers this year will support the world-wide children’s brain tumor research efforts of the Children’s Brain Tumor Network (CBTN, formally the Children’s Brain Tumor Tissue Consortium). CBTN brings together top pediatric brain tumor research centers, hospitals, and patient foundations to find better therapies and a cure for every child with a brain or central nervous system (CNS) tumor.

Make your mark as a Brain Tumor Avenger and join us today – because a future without pediatric cancer begins with us!

Why Do We Do It?

Each year, more than 15,000 children and young adults in the United States are diagnosed with a brain/CNS tumor. Brain Tumors are the leading cause of disease-related death for children in the U.S. and many other countries around the globe. Childhood cancer knows no borders.

In Philadelphia, CHOP’s Center for Data Driven Discovery in Biomedicine (D3b) serves as the operations center for the CBTN. D3b is part of the #1 pediatric oncology program in the United States, as ranked by U.S. News & World Report. The center supports CBTN’s innovative research by bringing together experts in neurosurgery, neuroscience, clinical oncology, data science, and research coordination. Each child that is diagnosed with a brain tumor at CHOP is able to participate in this breakthrough research.

CBTN is redefining how brain tumor research is done. CBTN’s 26 member institutions, located in Europe, Asia, Australia and throughout North America, contribute research samples, data and expertise in the treatment of childhood brain tumors. Working together with other leaders in the research community, including the Pacific Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium, is enabling CBTN to stay on the cutting-edge of cancer research in the fight against pediatric cancer.

How You Can Help
