Taylor's Tachyarrhythmics

As you all know Taylor has been through more in his short lifetime so far than most of us have in our lifetime, and we wouldn’t be where we are today if it weren’t for the doctors and nurses in the Cardiac center at CHOP!  Please join us in raising money to continue to help research and  providing life saving medicine to all the little hearts out there, not just our favorite one!!

Taylor's story is one for the miracle books!  At 23 weeks pregnant, we found Taylor had large tumors in his heart.  At 33 weeks pregnant, while at a routine visit at the Maternal Fetal Medicine Department at CHOP, it was found that one of the tumors in his heart collapsed through the tricuspid valve and was blocking blood flow through the right side of his heart, his heart rate was also 254 bpm.  They gave the parents the option for emergent C-section with an almost guaranteed poor prognosis, or allow nature to take it course and he would pass away in utero in 2-3 days.  We placed out hearts in God's hands and went home and for the hardest next 3 days, planned his funeral.  We arrived Thursday morning for planned stillborn induction, only to find out he still had a heartbeat, and better yet, some how by the grace of God, the TUMOR MOVED BACK UP THROUGH THE VALVE AND RESTORED BLOOD FLOW!!  After all that, Taylor decided he was ready and surprised us all at 34 weeks!  For the next 18 months he spent countless days in and out of the cardiac center at CHOP bc those tumors caused him to have WPW and making his heart rate hit as high as 282 bpm!  After being on 4-5 different cardiac medications at the same time, and 3 cardiac ablations thanks to Dr Iyer, Taylor is now a thriving 5 year old who started Kindergarten and is off all medications!  We can never thank the cardiac team at CHOP enough for helping us through those tough times in our lives.
