We can’t think of a better way to celebrate Jac’s 40th birthday than to raise money for the team that gave our JJ the chance to make it to his first birthday.  On March 12th, Jac and I are joining this year’s Philly Spin-in to help raise money for the incredible CHOP Pediatric Cardiac team.

JJ was born with a congenital heart defect called TGA.  He had a small surgery right after birth and then at 4 days old he had a larger one which entailed a double bypass arterial switch with 2 VSD closures.  In other words, the best doctors in the world reconstructed his heart while wearing magnifying glasses.  Amazingly, 3 weeks later, JJ was off the ventilator and pacemaker, his chest tube was out, and he came back to Rye where he could meet his sisters for the first time.

We will never forget the scores of brilliant, kind, and compassionate doctors and nurses that got JJ through those times. Thank you isn’t enough.  We hope these dollars help other babies like JJ, as well as the little hear warriors still in the dark part of the cloud.  CHOP is such a special place filled with incredible nurses and doctors helping so many little heart warriors who would all be incredibly grateful for your support.
