Welcome to Team Hurricane Celia!
We are walking in honor of our confident, sassy, insightful, bright-eyed 4 year old daughter Celia. She truly is a force of nature. Celia was diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth, and we are so proud and happy she is ours.
At the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, children like Celia are cared for by the Trisomy 21 program, an innovative multidisciplinary program that began in 2003 to provide and coordinate care for children with Down syndrome. Unlike most programs at the Children's Hospital, individuals with Down syndrome can remain patients through adulthood. This program is near and dear to our hearts. Our family is incredibly thankful for their supportive team.
This is our second year participating in the Buddy Walk and our goal is to raise $5,000. All donations benefit Down syndrome research and services at the Children's Hospital. Please donate to this wonderful cause and consider joining us on October 1st to celebrate acceptance and inclusion!
