When our daughter, Madeline, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), on September 23, 2015, we were shocked and scared by the diagnosis. Our beautiful 7 year old girl was roller skating with her sisters one night and the next day was being admitted to the oncology unit at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. We were filled with grief, fear and confusion.
In the coming days we realized that we were in the BEST place possible at CHOP. Maddie’s journey has led us to the finest doctors and nurses in the field. They have become an integral part of Maddie’s treatment and a support to our entire family. They are continuously willing to answer questions, listen to concerns and are always caring and professional. The oncologists at CHOP are leaders in the field of childhood cancer. We feel blessed to have such gifted practitioners navigating Maddie’s journey.
Maddie is now 9 years old and is about to start 4th grade. She is currently receiving treatment and will continue to another few months. Maddie is doing beautifully and has been an inspiration to many. We know that with the continued support of our faith, family, friends and the staff at CHOP, Maddie will remain on her path to healing.
We are participating in the Parkway Run and Walk to support Pediatric Cancer Research and express our gratefulness to CHOP for the exemplary care they have given to our daughter.
Thank you for your support!
