A Smile for Kyle

This year our Kyle is celebrating his 8 year anniversary from treatment.  In 2008, the doctors at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia diagnosed Kyle with Stage IV Neuroblastoma.  He underwent intensive chemotherapies, surgeries, two stem cell transplants, local and total body radiation and experimental immunotherapy.    In the summer of 2009, Kyle was said to have No Evidence of Disease (NED).  We have waited for the day that we could call him a cancer survivor.  That day came early in the summer of 2014 on July 1st.  Survivorship is one day at a time.  We continue to pray for a cancer-free future.    We continue to battle his cancer every day by fundraising for pediatric cancer research and supporting the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.  At just 3 years old at the time of his diagnosis, Kyle was just a baby.  He is now 13 years old and is experiencing all the joys of childhood.  Every day we have shared as a family has been a gift.  We owe the precious gift of time to the doctors and nurses who cared for Kyle while he was in the hospital.  They provided him with life-saving treatments.  To them, we will always be grateful.  We ask you to help us celebrate Kyle’s survivorship by walking or running in the Four Seasons’ Parkway Run.  Donations to our team, A Smile for Kyle, are also greatly appreciated.  Please consider helping Kyle and all kids battling pediatric cancer.  Together, we can make a difference!
