Kenzie's Kidney Krew

2018 Daisy Days 31-Day Challenge

Dear Family and Friends,

For the month of May I am participating in Children's Hospital of Philadelphia’s Daisy Day 31-Day Challenge! I have pledged to walk, jog, or run for 31 days to support cutting-edge research and care at CHOP!

Why I Participate
The time for breakthroughs is now. CHOP is on the cusp of life-changing discoveries for children. They are transforming the well-being of children and creating healthier communities throughout Philadelphia and across the world. I am raising money because I want to help make today’s innovative ideas, tomorrow’s realities.

As I'm sure you know, McKenzie was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome in October 2016 and following a kidney biopsy in January 2017, Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerois (FSGS). Through her treatment plan we are able to keep her kidney's in check her doctor's have found a treatment plan that seems to be working for her.  Currently, there is no cure, and a kidney transplant is not even a sure fix as 40% of patients with FSGS have returning symptoms WITHIN HOURS of the transplant.

How You Can Help
Consider supporting me by making a tax-deductible donation as I take on the 62 mile Challenge to raise money for the Nephrology Department and research at CHOP.
