We are raising money to help fight childhood cancer and fund breakthrough research and innovative care at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Join us – together we can make a difference!
Why This Is So Important to Our Team:
As many of you know, Addison Brielle Kaplan, known as Addi B. by family and friends, is an intelligent, loving, sensitive, creative, and beautiful girl. Some of her favorite activities include dancing, reading, math, soccer, and of course, arts and crafts.
Late last year, Addison developed a tumor in her ocular cavity which required surgical removal the day before Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, on Black Friday, the biopsy proved the tumor to be malignant. A week later, Addi was officially diagnosed with a rare form of Pediatric Cancer called Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS).
After 6 months of systemic treatments including chemotherapy and proton radiation administered solely at CHOP and Penn Medical as well as check-ups at Wills Eye Hospital, Addison's prognosis is trending in the right direction.
She received the best care possible at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) while fighting her ERMS. We ask for your support in an effort to make sure no parent ever has to hear a cancer diagnosis for their child ever again.
By walking or running with, or making a donation to Team ADDI'S ARMY, you will show your support not only for Addi B., but for every child who has ever received a cancer diagnosis. Please help us make sure Pediatric Cancer is a thing of the past sooner rather than later.
100 percent of every donation to the 2019 Parkway Run & Walk, presented by Citadel, will help CHOP make important breakthroughs in understanding the causes of childhood cancer, developing new treatments that will improve outcomes for children, and one day may lead to a cure for childhood cancer.
Thank you for your support!
