GOAL
Welcome to the fundraising and event page “Flying High for Hope” hosted by Your Allergy Angel! Your Allergy Angel’s purpose is to establish a fund for The Division of Allergy and Immunology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for a minimum donation of $25,000. This fund will financially support families of all backgrounds who are faced with high deductibles, inadequate insurance or changing health care coverage. Our main goal is to allow families to focus on their child’s diagnosis and treatment program rather than the monetary burden it brings, which can be devastating. In addition to the benefit for families, the establishment of this new fund will also create an avenue for other individuals or organizations with similar interests to donate as well.

ABOUT YOUR ALLERGY ANGEL
Kerrin Cavanaugh (Your Allergy Angel) was born and raised in Long Island, NY. Her parents, Tom & Barbara Cavanaugh, raised Kerrin and her two older sisters, Kaitlin & Kelly, in the same town they both grew up in. Kerrin followed in both her sister’s footsteps and attended college down south at Belmont Abbey College located in Belmont, NC just outside Charlotte. She graduated in 2009 with her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education & Sports Management.
Kerrin found her way back to her roots and currently resides in Long Branch, NJ. She is a Godmother to her beautiful niece, Faylinn Mary, who is the light of her life! After teaching for a few years then working long hard days behind a desk as an Executive Assistant, it was time for a change. She took a leap of faith, following her long time passion to help people and founded Your Allergy Angel as a Blogger. Your Allergy Angel’s purpose is to help people in need who are suffering from food allergies and any other medical conditions that come along with allergies, including EoE (Eosinphilic Esophagitis) which Kerrin suffers from herself. She also has severe environmental allergies, eczema, asthma and the list goes on.
Kerrin felt so passionate about helping others as she knows firsthand what it’s like to be restricted from many foods, feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed in social situations and feeling like an outcast when nobody can relate. If a 30 year old feels this way, she couldn’t imagine what an innocent child must feel!!
Your Allergy Angel is on a mission and that mission is to educate the world on food allergies, even if you don’t suffer from them personally. Kerrin wants allergy sufferers to be able to eat what they want in airports, restaurants, hotels, etc. without feeling judged, confused or disappointed! She hopes to simultaneously raise awareness and money for the Allergy and Immunology division of the Hope Fund to benefit families who are less fortunate and can truly use the help.
