Team Captain Super Tulip Philly Spin-In 2024

Ride for Breakthroughs for Little Hearts

I am raising money to support innovative cardiac research for kids at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). With your help, we can better understand the causes of pediatric heart disease, develop new treatments, improve long-term outcomes and offer new hope to families who need it most.

Why I Ride

I ride because I was born with a CHD, congenital heart disease, but that is not what defines me. I’m an athlete, an artist, a lover of the outdoors, an honor roll student, and a senior about to start a new chapter of my life at college. Riding in the  Philly Spin-In means that I have a chance to give money, so babies and kids like me can have the same chance I have: to live a life full of excitement and joy, but most importantly being able to participate in everyday experiences. The team’s name is Super Tulip because as a baby my parents would call me super tulip based on a bib I would wear with a purple tulip on it. I would run around with the bib flying behind me like a superhero. Today this feels symbolic to me of overcoming my heart surgery and showing at such a young age that I was ok, which is my goal. I want to give babies a normal life like I have. Last year we raised a record breaking $10,000, and hope this year to raise another $5,000 for this great cause. Although this goal may be small my hope is to bring the fun in FUNdraising to break away from the stresses of senior year and celebrate my last opportunity to be apart of this fundraiser. Although the goal is smaller than goal previous it is still  is difficult and I cannot be accomplished without your help. So, I'm calling on you, my family, friends, and supporters to help give back to a cause that means so much to me.  Coming together as one and all standing for the Cardiac Unit for a forth year.  By coming together, you are connected by a bond to inspire and raise money for something that is deep in my hearts. I hope you will join the cause by supporting CHOP’s Cardiac Unit in any way you can.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Grace
