We are thrilled to celebrate the 2022 Emily Sachs Dance Benefit, the 26th annual event in memory of Emily Rachel Sachs! The 12 Dance Arts Council groups of the University of Pennsylvania have come together to honor Emily Sachs, a Penn student who passed away from asthma complications in 1995. While at Penn, Emily was a member of Arts House Dance Company and a vibrant member of the dance community.

All proceeds will benefit the Community Asthma Prevention Program Plus (CAPP+) at CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia). CAPP+ aims to reduce the impact of unhealthy housing on pediatric asthma outcomes in West Philadelphia neighborhoods. By combining home repairs with help from community health workers, CAPP+ provides asthma education and environmental remediation. They partner with Rebuilding Together Philadelphia to conduct the home repairs and also use minority- and women-owned business enterprises to do the work, whenever possible. You can learn more about CAPP+ in this video!

This year, the benefit will take the form of a Day of Dance, which will celebrate Emily through virtual workshops hosted by each of the DAC groups on Saturday, January 22, 2022. We invite you to participate in the workshops, which will range from beginner to advanced level, with a suggested donation of $5. Please also consider participating in our additional fundraising events, a raffle and Blaze Pizza profit share (located at 3400 Lancaster Ave). More information, including a workshop schedule and registration, raffle ticket link, and Blaze flyer, can be viewed here: https://linktr.ee/emsachs

Our fundraiser goal this year is $4,000! We appreciate any donation, large or small, to help support this amazing program! Donations can be made here or directly to the Venmo Account @emsachs2022.

Please join us in celebrating the memory of Emily Sachs! We are so excited to connect with you this year!
