Charlotte’s Day On The Runway

My name is Charlotte Matulevich and this is my CHOP story!

Just hours after birth, my blood sugar dropped so dramatically that my health care team was puzzled. An MRI scan confirmed I had Panhypopituitarism, a rare condition in which the pituitary gland stops producing all or most hormones. It was a terrifying time for my parents! After my diagnosis, we traveled to CHOP for a second opinion. There we met pediatric endocrinologist Dr. Vaneeta Bamba and the CHOP pediatric endocrinology team. They equipped my parents with special training and education to best care for me at home. Thanks to the commitment and dedication of my care team, I am developing and growing beautifully. The pediatric endocrinology team is truly responsible for giving me the life I have today. I am extremely grateful to have such confidence in the medical care that I receive at CHOP. Now it's my turn to help the care team that continues to care for me! I hope my donations can make a difference in the lives of other children that face medical challenges like me!
